The City of Kingston Archives is a separate archives housed in the Queen’s University Archives Building, Kathleen Ryan Hall. This Archive contains some 200 meters of records beginning in 1838 and continuing to 1998. The archives includes City Council minutes, agenda and by-laws; correspondence; petitions to council; administrative and financial records; engineering reports; census records; city planning records, maps; and some photographs.

Please note, that while much of this material is open for reference and research use, the records of the City of Kingston are administered according to the provisions of the Government of Ontario’s Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
